Battle of the Year Workshops und Masterclasses
The European Hip Hop Community is a workshop series, which takes place the week before the Battle Of The Year 2009. Five teachers are giving classes on three days. Everybody is welcome to join the workshops. The classes are given by Storm, Salah, Roxrite, Lilou, Arzu and Carlos.

20 Years Battle of the Year Exibition
From October 12th - 17th, the exibition will document the matter and history of the past 20 years of Battle of the Year.
The exibition will prioritize the common history but also special moments, legends and persons from the last 20 years.

Battle of the Year Dance Theatre Night
The Dance Theatre Night at october 15th should reflect a fundamental part of the BOTY philosophy. Show young dancers and crews a perspective for their future career. Performing breakdance and other urban danceforms on
theatre stages will bring more acceptance in art and culture.

International 1 vs 1 Battle
For the first time in BOTY history, we will integrate a 1 vs 1 battle in the side events. 16 of the world´s best dancers are competing against each other in a K.O. system. These dancers are chosen from the world´s B Boy elite. All of them already win competitions or participate in big events like the Red Bull BC One, IBE or the UK Championships. Prizemoney will be 1500 Euro and the judges will be Storm (GER), Salah (FR) and Kwikstep (USA)
Host of the evening will be no other then the living swiss B Boy Legend Crazy, from the Crazy Force Crew.

Over the last years the Funkstyle Battles are getting more and more popular. Popping & Locking dancers from all over the world competing against each other. The winner will perform a showcase on the mainstage of the BOTY Finals.
